Qualifications:
Professional Perspective
It is my professional philosophy to provide counseling services that are grounded in a holistic perspective. I believe successful therapy outcomes are most likely to occur when interventions address the needs of the "whole" person. These include but are not limited to emotional, psychological, physical, interpersonal, and spiritual needs. Self-defeating beliefs and behaviors in any one or more of these areas will negatively influence or disrupt the overall balance of a person"s life.
I am convinced that each person possesses the inherent power of personal choice and the ability to grow. I am enthusiastic in my efforts to help each client understand the real differences between constructive and self-defeating choices and to discover the power within to achieve lasting change.
Perspective Grounded in Experience:
Of course education is essential. But I believe there's just no substitute for experience. Over the past 25+ years, I've worked with people in many situations, from all walks of life. There's a very good chance I've assisted clients with circumstances similar to yours... and helped someone like you find the answers they are seeking.
I have advanced training and expertise in Community Mental Health, Occupational Social Work, Stress Management, Biofeedback Training, Anxiety Disorders, Conflict Resolution, Behavior Disorders, Addictions, Self-defeating Behaviors, Grief Counseling, Pain Management and Christian Counseling.
