Ted Chapin, Ph.D. is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Certified Neurotherapist with over 30 years experience. His specialties include personal, marriage and family counseling, psychological testing and child custody evaluation and neurofeedback. His approach is compassionate, goal focused and integrates mind, body and spirit.

A Devoted Wife, Mother, Friend, Counselor, Colleague and Professor at Bradley University
Lori touched the lives of many and healed the hearts and souls of those she served. She was the Co-founder of Chapin & Russell Associates with her husband and life partner Ted Chapin, Ph.D. Together they published several books on counseling, supervision and neurofeedback. As a prolific author, researcher and practitioner with a column in “Counseling Today”, she and Ted shared their knowledge with professionals across the world.
Lori’s passion was living life with love and applying neuroscience in counseling practice. She was Board Certified in Neurofeedback, coined the term “Neurocounseling,” and was a beloved teacher, supervisor and mentor to several of our staff. Lori will be deeply missed and always remembered by her clients, colleagues, friends and family.
ELISSA CHAPIN, MA, NCC, NT
Elissa Chapin is a National Certified Counselor and school counselor in the Dunlap School District, dedicated to helping students build emotional resilience and personal growth. She earned her Master’s degree in Counseling from Bradley University in 2020 and began her career serving the Peoria community as a foster care therapist with Children’s Home.
Elissa combines her clinical background with a passion for applied neuroscience. As a Certified Neurotherapy Technician, she provides neurofeedback training that helps clients strengthen focus, regulate mood, and improve overall brain performance. Her work bridges the gap between traditional counseling and cutting-edge neurotechnology—offering a powerful, science-based approach to self-regulation and mental wellness.

Joe Croegaert, LCSW
Joe has over 35 years experience in Clinical Social Work. He specializes in work with individuals with mood disorders including anxiety, anger management and depression. He provides couple’s counseling and family mediation. He is also effective in working with children, adolescents and adults who have experience trauma in their lives.

Malinda Lehnert, M.S., LMFT
Malinda is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who earned her master’s degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in Marriage and Family Therapy. Her therapy approach is empathetic, nonjudgmental and incorporates a warm, curious style. She enjoys walking alongside her clients as they heal, grow, and discover solutions to the burdens that weigh them down. Malinda specializes in treatment and recovery from childhood and adulthood trauma and helps clients who struggle with depression, anxiety, mood issues, and relationship difficulties. She provides compassionate, experienced care to those who are preparing for end-of-life challenges and has a deep understanding of individuals who live with physical disabilities. She promotes a holistic view of her clients’ health needs while encouraging self-care and self-compassion. Malinda is also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and is excited to educate her clients about how EMDR can help free them from the wounds of their past. She has training in Attachment-Based Family Therapy with expertise in guiding parents, caregivers, and their adolescents and teenagers toward healthy, joy-filled relationships.

With over 30 years experience, Brad has advanced training and expertise in social work, coaching, stress management, biofeedback training, anxiety disorders including OCD, couple’s counseling, behavior disorders such as Oppositional Defiant Disorder, addictions, relapse prevention, self-defeating behaviors, marital and family therapy, grief counseling, pain management and faith based counseling. He is a Trained Neurotherapist with a unique, primary focus on wellness and whole person interventions that heal the mind, body and spirit without medications. He also is a U.S. D.O.T. Qualified Substance Abuse Professional.
Caitlin Reeves, LCPC
Caitlin is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor whose style of therapy includes sympathetic, client-centered and solution focused interventions that incorporate her kindhearted and easy-going personality. Her clinical specialties include treatment of children and adolescents who experience anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, and transitions in life. She has additional experience providing counseling for clients who experience self-harm, suicidal ideation and need crisis intervention. Caitlin assists her clients in reducing mental health symptoms and improving their quality of life. She believes that therapy is a collaborative effort between client and therapist in which the counselor helps the client live their best life possible.
Caterina Richardson, LCPC
Caterina’s clinical style is a blend of cognitive behavioral therapy and solution focused interventions. She effectively uses a combination of motivation, challenging thought process, and internal reflection to address the presenting issues. She maintains a high level of compassion in her sessions utilizing a non-judgmental approach to the presenting issues. With 15+ years of experience, she has focused her areas of specialty to depression, anxiety, adjustment issues and personality disorders. She enjoys facilitating change and empowering individuals to become the person they desire to be.
Emily Shelton, LPC
Emily is a Licensed Professional Counselor whose style of therapy includes compassionate, cognitive/behavioral, faith-based and whole-person interventions that reflect her light hearted and kind personality. Her clinical specialties include treatment of adolescent, adult, anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, and life transitions. She has experience in counseling for stress management, anxiety, depression and relationship difficulties. Emily assists her clients in differentiating between symptoms and causes, including identifying self-defeating behaviors that can be replaced with health coping skills and habits. She believes in optimizing strengths and empowering lasting change through the building of resilience.

Cameron Young is a neurofeedback technician and a current Computer Science student at Bradley University, where he has earned a Dean’s List standing for three consecutive years. Cameron is also a proud veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, having served four years in the Infantry. This experience instilled in him a deep commitment to discipline, resilience, and supporting his community, qualities he now brings to his work. He is passionate about connecting with and assisting people from all walks of life. Cameron firmly believes that mental health is crucial, and he knows that individuals can truly strive and flourish when they make their brain health a top priority. His ultimate goal is to empower people to achieve a greater sense of well-being and peak performance.

Shane Young, M.A., LCPC
Shane is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and a Bradley University Alumni with training in Biofeedback, Neurofeedback and qEEG. He is a certified Brain Health Coach with Amen Clinics and is working toward becoming Board Certified in Neurofeedback. Shane is also a fitness enthusiast and enjoys time with his family and hiking. He coaches many children in our community in sports and is a certified woman’s S.A.F.E. and R.A.D. self-defense instructor. He is a military veteran and a First Responder. Shane specializes in treating anxiety, depression, ADD/ADHD, academic issues, sleep disorders, anger management, self-esteem, grief and loss, PTSD, substance abuse, domestic violence, concussion recovery, and performance anxiety. He is deeply committed to helping individuals develop a sense of peace and well-being, enhance their quality of life, and improve overall health.
